PickupIQ Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
PickupIQ is operated by Abed Group LLC ("PickupIQ," "we," "our"). This policy describes what we collect, why, and what we do with it when you use the PickupIQ app on iOS or Android, or any PickupIQ web page (together, the "Service"). Questions: ballerappsdev@gmail.com.
1. What we collect
Account information. When you sign up (with Apple, Google, or email) we collect your display name, a unique username, and your email address. You can optionally add a profile photo and a home city (which you type or pick — we never save your device's GPS location; if you allow location access, we use an approximate position once, on your device, to sort nearby leagues, and discard it).
Game content. Games you create or join (participants, scores, sport, the venue name the host types), your career stats, squad and team memberships, chat messages, comments, reactions, and the highlight videos you record or upload — including who is tagged in them.
Guest names. A game host can add a player who doesn't have an account by typing their name. That name appears on the host's roster, in that game's records and highlights, on the squad's standings, and on the game and highlight pages that anyone with a shared link can open. If someone added your name and you want it gone, email us.
Technical data. A push-notification token for each device you sign in on; crash and error reports (Firebase Crashlytics); and product analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase and PostHog) — which screens of the funnel you reach and which features you use, tied to your account ID; and, on Android, the Google Play install referrer read once at first launch (it carries the invite code you installed from, if any). Analytics events never contain your name, email, username, message text, or content. Our analytics providers derive a coarse location (city level) from your IP address; we don't collect precise location.
What we never collect: your precise location, your contacts, an advertising identifier, payment card details (Apple and Google handle any billing; we never see it), or biometric data. We do not use face recognition.
2. How we use it
To run the Service (match you to your games, show your stats, deliver notifications you've asked for); to keep it safe (moderation, report handling, block enforcement); to understand and improve it (crash diagnosis, aggregate feature usage, measuring which invite channels work); and to communicate with you about your account. We do not sell personal information. We show no ads and share nothing with advertisers. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. What other people can see
PickupIQ is a social sports app, so most of what you do in it is visible to other players:
- Your profile — name, username, photo, career stats, and game history — is visible to other signed-in users. Your email address is never displayed in the app.
- Game records are visible to everyone in the game and, for squad and league games, to that group's members and followers.
- Highlights you upload can appear in the Discover feed for other users unless you turn a clip off (each clip has a control) or set your profile to Private, which keeps all your clips out of Discover.
- Anyone can share a highlight link. Highlight links open on the public web, so anyone with a link can watch that clip and see its preview — signed in or not. The same is true of profile photos: like most apps, the media itself is served from public URLs. The preview names the first tagged player — a member by username, whatever their profile setting.
- Anyone can share a game link too. Game links open on the public web, so anyone with a link can see that game's final score, its box score with each player's name and profile photo, and its clips' preview images — signed in or not, whatever your profile setting.
- Setting your profile to Private limits your reels, your profile's Highlights tab and your Discover presence to people on your roster. It does not un-share games you've already played with others.
4. Who processes data for us
| Provider | What they process | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Account data, game content, chat, videos, push tokens, crash reports, analytics events | Database, storage, sign-in, notifications, crash reporting, analytics |
| PostHog (US cloud) | The same analytics events, tied to your account ID | Product analytics dashboards |
| RevenueCat | Your account ID and (if you ever buy one) subscription status | Subscription management |
| Apple / Google Play | Push delivery; any billing | Distribution and payments |
Each processes data on our instructions. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's and Google's own terms.
5. How long we keep things
- Chat messages (squad and team) delete automatically after 30 days.
- Comments on games are kept with the game record.
- Games, stats, and highlights are kept indefinitely — that's the product: your career log.
- Crash reports are kept by Crashlytics for about 90 days. Analytics user-level data is kept for 14 months in Google Analytics; aggregate archives are kept longer.
- Safety records (reports, moderation actions, blocks) are kept as long as we need them to keep the Service safe.
6. Deleting your account
Delete your account any time in Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or email ballerappsdev@gmail.com if you no longer have the app — see Delete your PickupIQ account for the details. Within 30 days we permanently delete your profile, email, photo, push tokens, reels, and settings; release your username; remove you from your friends' rosters; and delete your identity from our analytics systems.
Some things persist because they belong to shared records, not just to you: completed games you played in (including your stat lines), messages you sent to group chats before they age out, and highlights attached to games remain, no longer connected to a live account. If you want a specific highlight or photo of you removed, report it in the app or email us — we honor reasonable removal requests, and always for minors (§8). We may also retain limited records where the law requires it or where needed for safety (for example, moderation history).
7. Your choices and rights
Edit your profile in the app; control notifications per type in Settings; set your profile to Private; turn any clip out of Discover. Email ballerappsdev@gmail.com to request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion of specific data — we respond within 30 days and honor these requests regardless of which state you live in. California residents: this section plus §§1–4 are our notice under California law; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, and we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals (our providers do not collect personal information about your activity across third-party services). If a privacy law in your state grants you additional rights, you may also lodge a complaint with your state's attorney general.
8. Children
PickupIQ is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Players under 18 may appear in game records only as guest names entered by an adult, and in videos only where the adult who uploaded the video is responsible for having parental consent (see our Terms). Parents and guardians: to have a minor's name, image, or video removed, email ballerappsdev@gmail.com — we will remove it promptly. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Google-managed encryption). No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account is compromised, change your password and contact us.
10. Where data lives
We are a US company; data is stored and processed in the United States. The app is distributed in the United States.
11. Changes
If we make material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, and update the date at the top.
